Children

I am convinced, children are angels send by God. I am convinced that there is a God. That sweet smile , that innocence, that free spirit, that curiosity, that twinkle in their eyes. I see it all in my son and its just a wonderful time in my life.

Chennai Musings and The Kite Runner

Last week passed by like a whirl wind. I love it when life's 'full of purpose', suddenly , the concept of time 'trotting along grudingly' seems not to exist. For the most part, Boredom, I think is a self inflicted wound, you can either grovel in it or DO something about it.

I am addicted to my new find .. ' The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseni. Lovely book. I just can't put it down.

I went to Chennai last Wednesday. The weather was quite unexpected for Chennai at this time of year, It Rained. Whenever I travel to Chennai I make it a point to gorge on hot dosa's, no matter what time of day it is. So we ditched the stately ambiance of the Radisson and made a beeline for the more 'Real India' non A/c! Noise capsule of Sarvana Bhavan. Ghee roast, Rava-dosa, Rava Kesari. Hmm, sumptuous. All those little joys were whisked away by the lousy Airline food we got on our way back to Delhi. I can't blame Jet Airways though. All of them, Indian/Sahara included are up there in the running for the 'worst airline food' award. I think Kingfisher has managed to remain above board, so far!

I must comment on what a wonderful job the media is doing in elevating the citizens voices to a very powerful level( where they are heard!). For championing the Jessica Lall, Mattoo, Katara cases and exposing the rotten innards of our justice and police system. For fighting hand in hand with the students on the reservation issue and for being mumbai's mouthpiece to vent their frustration on being let down time and again by their govt. I sense a revolution building up. Suddenly the SYSTEM in on the back foot. Check out

I hope this week turn out better than the last. If not, I still have 'The Kite Runner ' and my family to fill the void.
